Title: Mael-Gûl

Author: Aislynn Crowdaughter

Betareader: For the first twelve parts of this story, up and including "Standing Trial", the ever gracious and very generous Randy, who did wonders to make this story better, and even helped me to transform the prologue into something that actually makes sense. Thank you!

From the thirteenth part of this story ("Defiance"), this story is beta'd by the amazing and talented Surreysmum, who polished my text and made it so much better! She relentlessly weeded out bad grammar, clumsy phrasing and unfitting modern slang, and polished some sentences to the point where readers could hopefully understand them. And again, it shows. Thank you!!!
All still remaining errors are solely my own.

Rating: NC-17 - strictly adult only!!!
Pairing: Aragorn/Legolas, Boromir/Legolas, Gimli/Legolas, Others/Legolas
Summary: Completely AU. Legolas slave fic. Mirkwood is a subjected realm and must give hostages to the other Elven realms as slaves. Legolas is the slave of Aragorn, who is a sadist. And to keep Legolas loyal to the Ranger, he is bound by a cruel spell: the Mael-Gûl
Feedback: Is what I live for!
Authors Note:
This story was first inspired by a Plot Bunny of Cheysuli, that she offered up for adoption: Mirkwood Elves are kept as pleasure-slaves. Legolas is the slave of Aragorn, who is a jerk. When Aragorn takes him with him on the Ring Quest and the others of the fellowship find out, Aragorn offers to share his slave with them to keep them from attacking him. Aragorn was to be the bad guy without any redeeming qualities.
This Plot-Bunny was adopted by BlueGold in her thrilling story “Bound”, that can be found here:

However, the basic ideas of BlueGolds story settled itself within my head and and began to grow and multiply. What if Aragorn was *not* the irredeemable bad guy, but matters were much more complicated? And how keep a slave loyal who accompanied his master everywhere and was supposed to fight and guard his back?

So, I asked BlueGold if she would mind if I wrote a similar story based on her basic idea, and she gave her permission. Here it is. Hopefully my story will be original enough and different enough from Bluegold's to avoid the dangers of plagiarism. The idea of the Mael-Gûl, or Rhach e-Maelangwedh (Lust-Spell, Curse of Lustchain) however is entirely mine.

The story is based loosely on the Movieverse, with a few book elements. Please note, however, that this is AU. Utterly and completely. I apologize to all Tolkien purists. I know the Master himself would rotate in his grave if ever he was confronted with anything like this. I know, Galadriel, Elrond, Thranduil and their Elves are *not* this way, and Aragorn is neither. But I simply had to write this, so please don’t read if you don’t like. You have been warned. --Aislynn

Warning: Slash, m/m, BDSM, torture, toys, d/s, very hard stuff, *very* graphic descriptions, both physical and mental; abuse both physical and sexual. Non-con and debatable consent.
This fic is very dark. Please heed the warnings! Don't read if you don't like!

Disclaimer: J.R.R. Tolkien owns the characters, safe a few original characters in side roles. Peter Jackson owns the Movies. Oh, and the universe I play in is not mine; even the setting is inspired by a plot bunny of Cheysuli and the story “Bound” by BlueGold, as mentioned above (see authors note). The idea of the Mael-Gûl, or Rhach e-Maelangwedh (Lust-Spell, Curse of Lustchain) however is entirely mine.

Languages: I am no great expert in Sindarin and have no clue to its grammar, therefore I will just use a few words of this language in this fic. So whenever Aragorn is speaking with Elves, consider the conversation is taking place in Sindarin, except if explicitly differently mentioned. At the council or among the Fellowship, he and everybody else is talking in Common Speech or Westron, except if differently mentioned.

And now, on with the story! -- Aislynn

forward to Prologue; back to all story chapters.

Delighted to see that you have started posting this here, Aislynn!

For anyone just starting this fic, you're in for a treat. Lots of the kink we love, but Aislynn's understanding of her characters is also superb and well thought out. Many readers will likely find the non-con in the early chapters difficult, but if you do, stick with it and you will soon be repaid with an understanding of the situation and a lot of emotional resonance that depends on your having experienced those difficult chapters along with her Aragorn and Legolas.

The warnings are real, but so is the fascination of this story.

And I'm only slightly biased :)

Hi! And now you have me completely and utterly blushed. Wow! Thank you! I try my best to live up to your expectations in the coming chapters, too!

So let me get this straight: non-con is completely OK when it happens to men, yet all of you get disgusted when it happens to women. Not only that, but this entire fic just acts as a perverted sexual pleasure to a sick fuck who has no human decency, and falls into the throes of the homosexual paradise where one is the slave and one is the master. Pretty much 50 Shades of Grey before it become reality.

But the story is still the same. Legolas is not a person, he is an animal meant to please others, mostly at the author's expense because she has no human dignity. She has spat on Tolkien's work, has taken the honour and capability out of these men, and has turned them into homosexual perverts that gives us normal people a reason as to why society should hate them.

What kind of emotional resonance is there? Unless the author has been raped or abused, there is no reason for this. But if she has, and has the gall to write this, then by God, she deserves to be humiliated again. There is a reason why women do not make good writers as a whole: their stories are emotionally baseless, and this entire work is based on rape. Male rape. Nothing more, nothing less. As to why praise is given, I have no clue, but there are plenty of stories like these, with the same stories and excuses, just rinse and repeat.

As for the beta, you are just as twisted as the author, with no sense of honour. Mental damage is awash here. Anyone who supports kink does not belong in this civilization. Move to South Africa where you can enjoy orgies.

An understanding of rape. So we have a rape lover. Not surprising, coming from a fag-loving feminist.

If I change Legolas to a female, we'll see how uptight you get. In short: HamletMachine meets LoTR.

Re: Unknown.
Dearest Unknown,

thank you for your honest comment. I think you got something wrong, here: this is not a story about an "homosexual paradise, where one is master and one is slave". Instead, this is a story about a highly dysfunctional relationship, where something went very, very wrong, and also about a master-slave mindset and (ultimately) the abandonement of it and the long, stony way for both protagonists of becoming free again. Yes, Legolas is a slave in this one, a person who has been depraved of his very basic rights, and if this was a story about a female protagonist in the same situation, it would be as horrific - while not as unusual, I fear.

However, I never said that Legolas was fine with that, or that the relationship was not abusive. Instead, at the start of this story, he is so deeply caught within the mindset, that he can hardly feel himself abused anymore; as is in fact the case of many women who are caught in an abusive relatinship with abusive and beating partners. At the same time, that very situation is not meant to stay that way. And if you take the time to read the story (which I doubt you will), you may find that I also take the time to explain how he (and his abusive partner) ended up where they are now.

However, if you wish a story where Legolas fights back, I recommend to you my spin-off, Murder The Dawn, which can be found here. There you can find a Legolas who indeed take his revenge on his abusive partner in this situation. I hope you will consider it worth your attention.
